R&D of an immersive adult playground playfully blending live-coded visuals, electronic music, and experience design.
At the @emergeinbath 2024 Showcase we’ll be showing an immersive adult playground that is still in the early stages of development, playfully blending live-coded visuals, electronic music, and experience design. This research and development performance will transform a gallery space into a dream-like environment where art, audience, experience, and space converge, creating opportunities for liberated play.
Our involvement in this event stems from Founder Nigel Fryatt being the Mentor in Creative Technology at EMERGE.
This experience will feature an ever-evolving, dynamic live-coded projected canvas, showcasing the work of three local generative artists alongside immersive experience design. This participatory environment invites playful interaction: floating balloons will drift through the atmosphere, while bubbles cast shadows and offer tactile engagement.
Underpinning this concept iis the aim to democratise and deformalise how audiences engage with immersive art, encouraging the act of play and dissolving the boundaries between creator, participant, and technology.
The theme will centre around “brat” acting as a one-off celebration of Brat Summer, inspired by the ongoing success of Charli XCX. In 2025 we will further develop this concept, bringing it to club venues and unexpected pop-up community locations, expanding the dialogue around immersive experiences and their potential to transform nighttime experience and self-discovery.
