A Bath-based creative meet up for live visuals and events - the people staging nights, installations and performances across the city, and the people who want to be part of that world.
Ever watched the visuals at a gig or festival and wondered how they made that?
Bath Live Visuals Community brings together motion graphics designers, VJs, stage designers, theatre technicians, event producers, creative coders, and the simply curious. We meet monthly in the backbar of The Bell on Walcot Street - a community-owned pub with decades of history championing live music and independent culture - to share work, swap techniques, and build connections across Bath’s creative technology scene.
Next meet-up: TBC (May 2026)
Each session is shaped by whoever turns up. The format is flexible but typically includes sharing recent work or projects in progress, informal demos of tools and techniques, open discussion around a theme or challenge, and networking over drinks.
There’s no pressure to present. Coming along to listen, ask questions, and meet people is just as valuable.
Bath Live Visuals Community was co-founded by POLYMATHIC founder Nigel Fryatt alongside Felix Colbert and Kyle Roberts.
POLYMATHIC sponsors the meet-up by covering the room booking, handles the admin behind each session, and opens up opportunities for the community to speak at other events - growing our collective presence beyond The Bell.
Felix and Kyle bring deep roots in live events, hands-on technical expertise, and the community connections that keep each session grounded and relevant.
The Bell is a community-owned pub on Walcot Street that has been central to Bath’s live music and creative culture for decades. We chose it because its values mirror ours: independently run, rooted in community, and with a long history of championing live performance.
Hosting here keeps us connected to the grassroots creative ecosystem we exist to support - and ensures the meet-up feels genuinely welcoming rather than corporate or exclusive.
