Vinyl Sessions at The Roman Baths 2026
Vinyl Sessions returns to the Roman Baths for 2026. Resident DJ Stu Bacana and a different guest selector each night share the hidden gems of their record collections in surround sound, beside the torchlit Great Bath.
We're back. For a second summer, POLYMATHIC and Bath Carnival are co-producing Vinyl Sessions, the Friday and Saturday music strand of Summer Lates at the Roman Baths - six weeks of after-hours evenings where two thousand years of history meets the warmth of vinyl.
Every Friday and Saturday from 24 July to 29 August, our surround-sound system returns to the Great Bath: fifteen speakers wrapped around the steaming water, so the music follows you wherever you wander - no stacks, no hot spots, just a warm wash of sound from every angle as the torches are lit.
Don't take our word for it
Last summer, audiences described the experience as warm and immersive and the DJs loved playing on it just as much. Hear what people had to say, in their own words, as we take you inside a Vinyl Sessions evening:
A resident, a guest, and the records that rarely get played
The Vinyl Sessions are curated by resident DJ Stu Bacana (Director of Bath Carnival), who plays each evening alongside a different guest selector. Together they dig into the hidden corners of their record collections - the records that rarely make it onto a dancefloor but deserve to be heard. Expect beautiful, eclectic and deeply personal selections spanning Latin jazz, rare groove, funk, soul and global sounds, each with a story to tell.
