Introducing Bath Live Visuals Community
28 January 2026
Bath Live Visuals Community is a free, monthly meet-up for anyone curious about how visuals for live events are created.

Ever watched the visuals at a gig or festival and wondered how they made that? Come meet the people who do.
Whether you're a motion graphics designer, a VJ, a stage designer, a theatre technician, an event producer, or simply someone who's looked up at a light show and thought "I want to know how that works" - this is for you.
Co-founded by POLYMATHIC, Felix Colbert and Kyle Roberts.
Where and When
We meet monthly in the backbar of The Bell on Walcot Street. If you know Bath, you'll know The Bell - it's a community-owned pub that's been at the heart of the city's live music and creative culture for decades. We picked it deliberately. Its values line up with ours: independent, rooted in community, and with a long history of championing live performance. It felt like the only right place to host something like this.

What to expect
Each session is informal and led by whoever's in the room. People share work in progress, demo tools and techniques, and talk through challenges. There's no pressure to present - turning up, listening, and having a drink is more than enough.

Why we're doing this
At Polymathic, our mission is to enable the cultural sector to engage audiences using creative technologies. A big part of that is building the networks and talent pipelines that make ambitious cultural work possible. Bath has incredible cultural heritage, but a relatively small creative technology community - the people designing visuals for live events, building immersive installations, and pushing what's possible on stage often don't have a regular space to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate.
That's what this meet-up is for. By bringing practitioners together regularly, we're strengthening the local creative technology ecosystem - creating pathways for emerging creatives, building connections across disciplines, and growing the shared ambition that raises the bar for everyone.
We're co-organising with Felix Colbert and Kyle Roberts, two local legends with deep roots in live events, bringing hands-on expertise and community connections to every session. Polymathic sponsors the event by covering the room booking - the meet-up is completely free to attend.

Come along
No sign-up required. Just turn up to The Bell's backbar on the night. Follow us for dates and updates, and if you've got something you'd like to share or demo at a future session, get in touch - we'd love to hear from you.
